The historic estate named Villa Ferrano is located just outside of the town of San Giovanni d’Asso, famous for its white truffles and its 12th Century castle. The area is the part of Tuscany known as the Crete Senesi (the Sienese clay cliffs) about 25 miles south of Siena, adjacent to the Val d’Orcia made famous in the movie, the English Patient.
The owners of Podere Ferranone are an Italian and American couple who are an architect and a landscape architect. They designed the Ferranone Farmhouse for their own use but with enough flexibility in its layout for renting to Guests. Over time, they became so enchanted with the area that they purchased additional parcels of the Villa Ferrano farming estate. Their intention was to restore the original architectural character of the villa while at the same time giving it new life as elegant and spacious rental apartments. The entire property is set on a hilltop with stunning views of the surrounding classic Tuscan countryside. The rural location of this Tuscan property midway between the historic urban centers of Rome and Florence make this an ideal place for both a relaxing and an inspiring vacation.
The property consists of the main Villa Ferrano, the Ferranino Townhouses, and the Ferranone Farmhouse and Guest House. The Villa Ferrano complex is currently under restoration and will available for rent in 2012. The Ferranino Townhouses are newly renovated and now available for rent. The Ferranone Farmhouse and Guesthouse have limited availability. Please inquire.
